ARCHITETTURE DI ELIO OSTINELLI

Vado sempre volentieri a Villa Panza di Biumo, una dimora donata al FAI e magistralmente recuperata per farne vetrina e contenitore di mostre d’avanguardia, perché, oltre all’interesse per quello che mi propone di volta in volta, mi affascina sempre come luogo.

Girando per la villa si è continuamente distratti nell’osservazione delle opere esposte dalla struttura e dal suo parco che offrono al visitatore un incredibile ricchezza di dettagli. Grande è la cura dei particolari: la ricostruzione di un intonaco finto marmo, una siepe che accarezza un muro, uno scorcio del parco incorniciato da un serramento storico o i giochi di specchi intelligenti per rimandare una scultura… e poi via via gli scorci che si godono dalle diverse ali della villa tra esposizioni temporanee e permanenti.

I’m always happy to go to Villa Panza in Biumo. This abode, which was donated to FAI to be masterfully re-established, shows all its beauty and is used like a modern art  gallery. Of course it attracts me because of the interesting exhibitions but I’m always fascinated by the site itself.

Walking through the house, you can admire the masterpieces shown there, but the gaze is continuously diverted by the structure of the house and its park which are plenty of nice details. There is a great attention to details: the rebuilt of a plaster fake marble, a hedge that caresses a wall, a view of the garden framed in historical windows or smart mirror games to show a sculpture… and the landscapes which can be enjoyed from different parts of the house, between temporary and everlasting expositions.
