PROCURATIE VECCHIE

Venezia, piazza San Marco, Procuratie Vecchie: dopo 500 anni uno spazio di 12.400 metri quadrati viene aperto al pubblico. Dopo cinque anni di lavori di restauro condotti dallo studio David Chipperfield Architects su commissione di Generali, da qualche settimana è possibile visitare lo storico palazzo sede dei procuratori di San Marco.

Tanti gli elementi di dialogo con il passato sia dal punto di vista dell’intervento architettonico sia per le funzioni: il terzo piano delle Procuratie Vecchie, infatti, ospita The Human Safety Net (Thsn), fondazione di Generali la cui missione è “liberare il potenziale delle persone che vivono in condizioni di vulnerabilità affinché possano migliorare le condizioni di vita delle loro famiglie e comunità”. Migliore+Servetto Architects hanno curato il progetto sotto la direzione artistica di Davide Rampello.

Venice, Piazza San Marco, Procuratie Vecchie: after 500 years a 12,400-square-meter space is now open to the public. After five years of restoration works conducted by David Chipperfield Architects and commissioned by Generali, it is now possible to visit the historic palace that was what we would now call “the headquarters” of some of the highest administrative figures of the old Republic of Venice.

Many are the elements of dialogue with the past both in terms of architectural intervention and functions: the third floor of the Procuratie Vecchie, in fact, hosts The Human Safety Net (Thsn), a foundation of Generali whose mission is to “unlock the potential of people living in vulnerable circumstances, so that they can transform the lives of their families and communities”. Migliore+Servetto Architects curated the project under the artistic direction of Davide Rampello.
